Meditation : Day 5 – 10

A hearty thanks and immense love to all of you. Now that we have gone through the first 5 days of meditation (https://lovetravel.co.in/2017/11/14/learn-meditation-step-by-step-day-1-5/) , we take a step more to come closer to our Being and our inner Self.

Before we take the next leap, we take a small look back to the 5 days.

  • So why the first 5 days of just letting your thoughts come ?
  1. For beginners and people who are trying to get into meditation practice, the urgency and importance of doing meditation should be crystal clear. Lot of people fail to continue meditation for many reasons, one being thinking that its not time for them to start meditation OR they don’t understand the urgency to start doing it. By just sitting quietly or meditating without much trying, people just cannot concentrate or get confused. They could see the chaos or plethora of thoughts thats running in their mind – and Yes this is a clear understanding(should be) to start meditation.
  2. Another reasons for people to not do meditation is because they are impatient. The first 5 days is primarily to make you sit everyday. This is majorly to build the patience that is needed to even try to start meditation. A regular routine is a MUST for any practitioner to get the benefits of meditation.
  3. For beginners or people who have never tried meditation, using imagination, thinking something beautiful or even just sitting with closed eyes prepares one(mind) for something new.
  4. The first 5 days is to make your body, mind and you getting atuned to a new practice.
  5. And the feedbacks and discussion was designed to help all. Its more like a warm up for all for the real game. And i hope we all are there.

Now that we all have seen what and how much of thoughts is carried inside the mind, we begin with a routine which will help us to reduce the thoughts that keep coming and eventually calm  the mind to completely be in Bliss of the moment/s and receive the blessings of this Universe and Cosmos.

SITTING POSITION :

The first one is ideal as it creates better energy circle around you else second position showed above is also good. No matter which one – you should be comfortable.

  • As soon as you open your eyes at morning, don’t rush for anything. Be in your lying position and just slowly inhale and exhale. May be a quick short time to feel the early breaths.
  • START the day with POSITIVE NOTE. SAY GOOD WORDS TO YOURSELF.
  • Get fresh and prepare to sit for your meditation time.
  • Put on a very light and peaceful music (youtube has many) OR sit in complete silence.
  • Sit straight and comfortably with a straight spine. Close your eyes and make your body be completely relaxed. Ask your body and mind to lose and give away any tension it carries.
  • Take some deep breath(3-4) before normalizing your breath. As you settle to your normal breathing pace –  keep your attention and focus on your breathing.
  • As you breathe further – breathe effortlessly – feel the flow of the cool of your breath as u inhale and feel it as you exhale it. Realize that you are in no rush and slowly and gently do the breathing.
  • As you move into more peaceful breathing, sense the awareness of your mind relaxing.
  • Do not control or create any expectation while you are in the process, just breathe naturally.
  • Use your abdomen to breathe in and out(gently). With every breath in, feel the gush of air that u inhale. With every breathe out, feel an emptiness of space in the abdomen (do not push or try if it doesn’t feel so).
  • ANYTIME, if thoughts pop up or mind wanders – just put your focus and attention back to your breathing and continue doing so.
  • Sit for between 15 mins to 30 mins, even more if possible(do not push).

— Before you sleep at night, again do a small quick breathing and feel your breath as you fall into sleep.

— During the entire day of doing, pause when ever and where ever possible to just feel your breath. Even a 1 or a 2 is good. Give 100% to whatever you do – even the most mundane of task(focus on breathing). Share the difference if any.

MEDITATION and The INNER JOURNEY IS ANOTHER UNIVERSE. THE MORE YOU GO DEEP THE MORE YOU GET SURPRISED.

30 days minimum of regular practice and the difference will be felt. Hence forth you will take the dive all alone, on your own TO EXPLORE THE INNER YOU – Just don’t create any expectation.

We go head with the feedbacks and discussion similar to the first 5 days.

Before starting Meditation

We all know the benefits that meditation carries. This one tool has been working beautifully and effortlessly since ages – as long back as 3000 BCE. The best part about meditation is that – it has no side affects – all that it has is benefits and benefits. Various aspects of meditation helps us relieve mental as well as physical pain and also helps us cope up with lot of ailments.

As I say, knowledge is ample today – everywhere – what at large people miss is the understanding. Knowledge without understanding is like a car without wheels – you could sit inside the body, play with the steering, listen to music – but the very intent of being in a car is lost.

So before we start meditation – its really important to understand – What meditation is ? What happens in the process ? How to get utmost benefit from meditation ?

  1. What is Meditation ? —  Meditation is a tool, a practice that helps us calm our mind. It is a device that helps us to clear the chaos in our mind that is developed over years  – due to external agencies – happenings, past, experiences and also to clear the chaos that is created because of future events – expectations, lot of plannings, desires. In a sense it is tool that brings you closer to your present – it brings you to your NOW – Your ONLY TRUE MOMENT.                                                                          Meditation is a science that helps us better understand the two amazingly super powerful tools – MIND & BODY . Our entire world is an expression of this body and mind and understanding this helps us create experiences that are exactly or even nearer to what we want. Meditation is NOT about disconnecting its about Connecting. The process talks about disconnecting in many places – it is only to connect again. Meditation is the gateway to go WITHIN.
  2. What happens in the process ? —  There are various ways and techniques to meditate. All eventually leading to the one and the same happenings – cleansing mind & body, understanding the connect between – mind, body and soul and preparing to get a tuned to the natural (effortless) flow of the Universe.
  3. How to get utmost benefit from meditation ? — A very crucial and IMPORTANT question. Though the practice or techniques of meditation seems very easy to do – it REALLY ISN’T that easy. To receive an utmost benefit of meditation remember the following points ( sacrosanct) :
  • SET CLEAR INTENTION/s – Understand why you want to meditate ? What is that you are looking to add into your life through meditation ? Keep recalling these intentions again and again.
  • BE DISCIPLINED – Lot of people fail because they cannot or does not bring meditation into a routine, disciplined act. A discipline is a MUST MUST MUST . Once it gets into your routine life – its just a few moments of conscious peace that you practice everyday – Its all that easy and soothing. MAKE IT A HABIT.
  • REFLECTION – Always take small bit of time to reflect onto your meditative time. Best is to have a journal to write about your experience/s. Notice and realize your own experience (What it is doesn’t matter).  DO NOT REACT, just let it flow.176518-The-Brain-Before-And-After-Meditation

NOTE : Sleeping is an unconscious meditation. Creative work is an unconscious meditation. Relaxing is an unconscious meditation. All these moments heals us, makes us joyous and happy – Imagine what experiences could happen when we CONSCIOUSLY MEDITATE. And even more, imagine what transformation could be brought to the world if its done Collectively !!

Ardhanarishvara – half man half women !!

Ardhanarishvara – a form that depicts Shiv and Parvati together, in one body. The most loved and revered God – Shiva is said to have given a part of him to Parvati or in some writings, Parvati willingness to experience Shiva’s energy made her pulled in Shiva.

I guess because of the male skewed society since ages, the emphasis has been given to Shiv more just because He was a male first. All writings that i have read says that Shiva shed a part of Him to accommodate Parvati.

I have something more to add on to the understanding that has been said and written since ages.

Prior to your reading ahead, do give a read to Sadhguru’s explanation to Ardhanarishvara. He definitely has given a nice explanation, but there are some more that i would want to add on to his explanation and also there is something that i might want to really differ to.

Ardhanarishvara is a form that holds Male(Shiva) and Female(Parvati) in pure balance. This form that is usually said to be of Shiv, could also be said to be of Parvati. So to say that Shiva gave his body to accommodate Parvati does not really sound too perfect to me. Male has been given undue weight-age since ages and its time that a better understanding needs to be developed. The male biased mindset could be seen in everything around.  And is one of the reason for the major turmoil going all around. Why? (Shall write on this in my next chapter)

Everything in nature is at sheer balance. The entire solar system is at balance, nature itself is in balance with everything. This is exactly what Ardhanarishvara signifies. A complete and wholesome balance – half male and half female. Sadhguru mentioned in his article very clearly that this form doesn’t mean two people getting connected – the “feminine” and “masculine” are certain qualities, but he could not be more clear to his audience.

What are those qualities ? What is that balance that even the God depicts ? Does this balance has something to do with the kind of world that have been created today ?

To go further we need to understand the true nature of a Male and a Female.

Male is all intellect and strength.

Female is all love and beauty.

Ardhanarishvara – is a unison of the true male and the true female. Ardhanarishvara is intellect, strength, love and beauty in one body –  the body of God – Shiva and Parvati signifies these qualities in a male and female. This is the balance of life that God depicts. Every male should have the true nature of female imbibed in him and every female should have the true nature of male imbibed in her.

The world at large is not in balance today. I feel this form, that even God depicts has much much to do with every human being on this earth today. There are many divine souls who have found this balance and have a very good understanding to the balance – inside and outside. The Gods are not just to worship – the Gods are to be lived !!

Winning and Losing – Know your testosterone .

We all know this 2 very very important words in our lives – Win & Lose. Now these are not “just” two words for 99.9999% of the world today. Its a far more important and sensitive term – because winning is not only a Win – its pride, ego, happiness, pleasure as far as –  life for some. On the other hand losing is not only a Loss – its depression,ego, frustration, loneliness, as far as – life for some.

I shall not speak of the extremes here. Taking a Win or Loss to as extreme as throwing your precious life over it – is foolish – extremely foolish.

I shall talk about how much winning and losing is important in ones life. When a person wins a competition – he feels good, confident, smart and happy. On the other hand the person who loses – feels timid, upset, frustrated at times and sad. Its most likely that the winner will win again if faced with the same competitor in future. These are more likely termed as the “winners effect” and the “losers effect”.

The interesting fact is more biological than behavioral. The winners always tends to have a testosterone boost at end of the game and the losers testosterone level dips. This inner biological changes makes the winner smarter, confident and with improved cognitive functions and the loser more timid, less competitive and low on energy in long run. Ideally people who participate in the competition – both have this small boost of the testosterone . After the competition the large differences in the level is visible.

On the other hand for people who do not participate in the competition at all – there is a total loss. Neither they get the benefits of winning nor do they taste the experience that comes from losing. In times of competition, hardships or challenges – the 3rd kind is likely to fail miserably. They are the ones who fall to their knees before even the bells are rung.

There are further more than interesting facts that might help us all to know about winning and losing. Winning continuously gives strong boost to the testosterone level and after a peak one might become over confident and make mistakes in their decisions. So it makes lot of sense to celebrate all wins with more sensibility and understanding.

Not that losers don’t get their bit. The losers should be sporting and realize what their mistakes are and should work to improve them and start preparation for the next competition. Holding on to the loss will make life worse.

And people who keep running from the competition and challenges – You should take a chance – you shall always be on the better side.

Its a small insight to give you an understanding of how your external behavior and environment stimulates the inner you and also how inner simulation could help you better reciprocate to the outer environment. The study of hormones and their magical affect is pretty vast and complex. None the less knowing whats important is worth.

** A piece of note : People watching their favorite team play on television shows a similar effect when their team wins or the teams losses. So be careful of how you attach your self with the ones on the screen.

FREEDOM !!! ??

Today is the day when we see all Hindustanis and many more people celebrating the Independence Day. A day when India got Independence, a day when the Indians wrestled out themselves from the chains of slavery of the Britishers. A day when the breath of freedom surrounded India’s atmosphere. A day when justice was made to the effort of all the heroes who sacrificed their entire life for the Freedom of the country, for the Freedom of you, for the Freedom of us – all.

But for all the fight, all the sacrifices, for all the doings and all the struggle that lead to this glorious day that we call The Independence Day – just a day of celebration ? Just a Day !

I ponder over this day today. I want to see the Freedom that my country men are celebrating. I see not that what you celebrate today. I understand not what you define as freedom. I see different freedom for different people. Freedom is conditioned on your status, money, power, identity and so much more. Should i call this Freedom ? A man kills and he is set free and another man kills and he was hanged. So could we say – one has the freedom to do whatever they want and another cannot ? A women fears to walk the deadly path where she knows an innocent girl her age was raped and killed . Is she free ? Education today chooses pupil, the child cannot choose education – so is this freedom ? People kill each other in the name of religion – is this freedom ? Superstition still prevails in entire country and people live life on those superstition – is this freedom ? You are overburden with emi’s, with things that you cannot afford – is this freedom ?

OPEN YOUR EYES !!

Where is the Freedom that you are celebrating ? Lets face it – don’t mock yourself – you are more enslaved than you ever where and than you ever think you could have been. You are slave to everything around you. You are like the bird who thought it was free – until one day it thought of flying and realized that the wings are no more – cut long ago.

It is no more the Britishers that are enslaving you. They have gone long ago. You could celebrate as many freedom days as you could – nobody stops you from doing that. But its time you – all – ask yourself – Am I FREE?

You were free – once – in the womb of your mother, not any more. The world was not designed for Freedom – it is only designed for slavery – at large. People who realized the true meaning of freedom – designed a new world around them with others who understood that freedom – many of them.

FREEDOM is the language of heart. A language only a free heart could understand .

 

 

This Day Is My Day!

This day is my day.
I wud do anything in my capacity to do what I love to do. This day is the only day that I have.

This day I wud spend for myself, this day I wud work to be happy. This day is precious, this time is precious. This day I wud not let things happen to me; rather this day I wud make the happenings. This day I wud take charge of my life. This day I wud bring most value to my life and to the life of others who are around me. This day I become aware of my doings, this day I seek for what I am, this day I do things that my heart & soul wants me to do. 

This day I give away the fear, fear of everything, cause the fear will hold me back from living my life. This day I give away the worries. This day I take one more step to create the world that I have always believed in. This day I put one more brick to the making of my world – My World !

This day I bring something better for me. This day I do something better for me. This day will not come again, this time will not show up again. 

This day, I write my own story, this day I decide. This day, I stand for myself. This day I believe that I am better, this day I believe I can do much better. This day, I realize my dream. 

This day I will not let go. This day I will not pass again. This day I will not walk that road which is not meant for me, this day I will explore the road that I always wanted to walk.

This day, I will clear the clouds, this day, I will move the mountains – stone by stone. This day I will fly, this day I will open my wings of freedom. This day I will dance, this day I will sing.

Live not surviveThis day I will live. This day I will do more than just survive .

This day is my only day, this day will not come again, this time will not show up again –

This day is my day !! This is my only day !!  

Be Happy !! Be Sexy !! Always !!

So when people ask you, how are you ? What is your reply ? I am good ! Ya…doing good ! I am fine ! For me surviving another day on this planet, breathing, being healthy and some one being there to ask me – how i am ? are way too many reasons to be just awesome, great, beautiful and sexy 😉

So being fine, good, happy or awesome is not that is decided by our environment ( Prison tamed him, taught him to hone his theatrical talents, his seducer’s arts, towards realistic political goals. He went in angry and came out wise .- Nelson Mandela).

Yes agreed their are moments of grief in life, but these are momentary or i would say, the grief stays as long as we want it to and so does happiness !

Its imperative for all of us to understand this to really lead a happy life every moment, every minute and every second. No matter what, you could be happy. Learn to inculcate the habit of being awesome everyday. Walk with awesomeness, smile with awesomeness, talk with awesomeness and even be silent with awesomeness. Feel the energy of life within yourself.

Best part of being happy is that it creates your environment to suit your mood. It attracts beautiful things and people around you. It brings reasons right in front of you to be more happy. You create your environment and learning the art of being happy is one of the key to create a happy environment, not for anyone but for yourself. A happy mind always  keeps everyone happy.

When-You-Find-Yourself-In-The-Position-To-Help-Someone

Slow Down…A Bit….

Right from the childhood he was told to be 1st in class, be 1st in competition, be 1st in everything that he did. With the same understanding a child grows – competing and struggling to be 1st or somewhere near the 1st rank. Once the school and college is done – he jumps into the corporate world (most likely), and here the race becomes more gruesome. Every boss and mentor he meets pushes & gives an understanding of the competitive corporate world, about how difficult it is to rise, how much he needs to work and blah blah.

Till one day he sits and realizes – am i here to compete ? am i here to be 1st ? am i here to run my whole life ? am i here to spend most precious time of my life running to be 1st or 2nd, and in which race are we in ? am i here to earn money ? am i here to live a borrowed life ? ………….. Ain’t i here to live a life ?ain’t i here to enjoy the wonders of the world around ? ain’t i here to live everyday and every second of my life in my own way ? ain’t i here to relax and enjoy the cool breeze pass through my hair or to smell the flowers in the garden ? Ain’t i here to spend my days with my loved ones ? Ain’t i here to love animals and humans ?

That one day he gets an understanding of real life. That one day he shreds away an understanding that was imposed or borrowed. From that day life became simpler for him. He found an answer to his questions, and those answers opened a new world for him.images (1)

A world of love, a world that seemed more closer to the creation, a world that shone with the lights of the divine, a world that has ample for everyone, a world of beauty and charm, a world so magnificent that it provided enough to live a peaceful and happy life. A world that didn’t speak of race and competition but a world that spoke of walking hand in hand, understanding, helping and creating.

From that day he listened to his heart very carefully, with no fear of system, with a new understanding of the world around, with more love in heart and with no competition in mind he slowed down his life, spending as much time with himself, with nature , with the loved ones and started doing things which he loved and liked. He not only started getting what he wanted in life, he met peace, love and happiness in his new phase of life.

So slow down a bit. stop ! watch ! enjoy ! Enjoy each second as it pass, with awareness of the beautiful world around us.

The only worth you could give to your life is giving it an experience that’s worth re-living !!slow-down-image

 

Mantra for a high energy lifestyle

In today’s world with so much pollution, rush, and chemically abused food intake, its very difficult to keep your energy levels high all the time. Fatigue takes over us more frequently than ever. This happens for various reasons – untimely sleep, junk food intake, too much of alcohol intake, worry, tension and less or no exercise. Forget about multitasking, most of us fail to keep those energy levels high for our daily tasks. Many in their daily rush of work and family engagement fail to understand the importance of keeping their energies intact. Lack of energies results in irritation with people and work around, it results in under performance, it results in non creativity, it results in sluggishness and many a times it could also lead to depression and demotivation .

People really fail to acknowledge a fact that if their energy levels are high, they could do wonders in all fields of their life. People who are making wonders – are people with very high energy levels and they work hard to keep this energy level intact – as much as they could.

All those morning exercise, yoga, meditation, eating good, sleeping well, even talking good and positive are tools that keeps those successful ( not rich ) people – healthy and wealthy. All that and more, does more than just physical and mental – it helps keep the energies building up to keep up with the daily routine and work. If we all inculcate few very simple habits in our daily routine, we could definitely see the difference. You could feel the difference in spirit with which you play your day.

  1. Eat healthy: This is most important. Our body needs to be taken care of. Eating healthy makes our inside as well as outside strong. Try to have as much natural food intake as possible. Anything that is unnatural will have a negative effect and lowers the energy. Avoid all packaged food and snacks – as far as possible.
  2. Exercise: Any form of exercise is helpful to keep those muscles happy. Stretching, yoga, some jumping around or playing some outdoor games is very beneficiary.
  3. Quit smoking. Quit alcohol: Smoking and alcohol kills one’s stamina and so affects the over all energy levels. Very occasional drinks and that too in small quantity, incase desirable is OK. Until you want to be a fitness freak .
  4. Meditation: One of my favorite and must do’s on the list. Meditation is one such formula that can have multiple benefits – mental and physical. One thing that can help get your mind back into gear is exposing it to restorative environments, which, research has found, generally means the great outdoors. One study found that people’s mental energy bounced back even when they just looked at pictures of nature. (Pictures of city scenes had no such effect.) Studies have also found that natural beauty can elicit feelings of awe, which is one of the surest ways to experience a mental boost.
  8. Get connected to people : Talk to people who appreciate your work and you – This is a booster. Spend time with people who make you feel good. Good words and appreciation helps keep your spirits high for life.happy-child-awesome
  9. Smile, Laugh, Giggle: Keep your childhood alive till the end of life. Smile, laugh and giggle as much as possible. Happy people tend to be more energetic and life will always have a lot of reason to smile and laugh.
  10. Listen to music: Music is magic. Music can sooth, music could energize, music could relax, music could make your feel better – so keep it on. Hear music that you feel gives power and motivation.
  11. Do things that you love: Nothing could beat this one. Anything that you love doing and are passionate about rejuvenates your soul.
