GOD WHERE ARE YOU !!

Everybody worship and everybody tends to search for that intangible – the God. The more people search the more It has been hiding. May be people are looking at the wrong places, may be something is missing in the prayers or may be the search needs to come to an end.

Today i see God everywhere and in everything. The divine is all around us, in the sound of the barking dog, in the feel of the swift breeze, in the singing of the birds, in family, in friends and in me. Today i am no more in search of the divine, the God. I have realized It and that brings an end to the search. The end of search is a new beginning of our relation – His and mine. Until you stop your search, you will not realize Him and until you don’t realize Him – you cannot enjoy the relationship – neither does He.

This blog is a small journey of me – in search of the Holy.

My belief in God was very very strong as a kid. As time passed the belief was challenged many times. Every time something went wrong i challenged my own belief in God – that had been my learning from my environment. People blamed God for all mis-happenings and i followed. After my college a small incident happened and i stopped all belief in the God – i became an atheist (as the society knows it). Couple of years of this behavior, a small bait for the ego mind, this continued.

I don’t exactly remember when, but as i grew up i saw myself visiting to temples again, started chanting some mantras too. There was something which was around me and my prayers became more regular. The mantras always had a soothing effect on me and i did more of it. I had found my God – the Shiva. Everything about Him was so appealing and i could only relate to Him – deeply. I became a Shiva worshiper.

During the same time i also hit upon meditation, a tool to help me come closer to Shiva and also to bring more peace – in and around. My rituals started changing with time. I was meditating more and the prayers were vanishing . Every meditation brought me closer to Shiva. My imagination was running high and i was loving every bit of it. Meditation initially was like kinder-garden  to me. I was playing around in my thoughts and my imagination. One thing i had realized was that no matter what your initial meditation practice be like – it will always make you better – clearer .Even a small concentration or an attempt will show you a path. No matter how much cloudy and vague this path may look, you will always have an inner urge to go further , to explore more, to learn more and to question more.

With every meditation and the with the rapidly changing world around me, i started questioning Shiva. As He was near me i had every right to get the answers (as i was thinking) . Never did i receive any answer from Him. As my mediation kept going deep and my questions becoming louder – a strange thing started happening – Shiva was losing his form. May be because i never got any answer, my belief and my mind both started its own game. There were no answers for rapes, no answers for killing, no answers for corruption –  nothing – nothing at all. Finally one day i lost Shiva – as a form, but there was something new that was arising . As Shiva got dissolved – a energy form took His place. I could feel it very clearly, the energy – without form – no structure – just energy. I dropped my idea of any God in any form. I started talking to people that there is no God – its only an energy. With time my belief in any form of God just evaporated. God became formless for me – It had lost all its identity. With this new energy that i found in place of God, i felt more connected , more in harmony – no form – no identity to remember – that meant no form to concentrate to. This was possibly the first stage where i was moving close to meditation – not my playful form of meditation – but true meditation. My inner was becoming calm and serene. The questions that i had – i never got any answer – but then they also disappeared.

That was 3 years ago. I still meditate, with more serenity and purity. There is no search today for the God – because Divine is everywhere, in everything and in nothing. I have felt Him within me, i have felt Him in my parents, i realize Him in the garden of flowers, i realize Him in the air, i realize Him in birds, i realize Him in the sky, i realize Him in everything and i realize Him in nothing.

Drive away – 5 awesome drives near Pune

Most of us love driving, may be not in the traffic of the city, but on the highways. I am a hard core lover to driving. Most of day i spent on the roads – in my car. Being in love with the highways every now and then i tend to take small road trip away from the hustle bustle of the city crowd. It not only gives me my time but also works to keep me motivated, fresh and energized. The short drives has given more to me than just a small road trip.

I have been in Pune for 10+ years now. The best part of this city is that it is so well connected to all near by places by roads and also that there is enough for one to explore on the outskirts of the city . Driving around Pune could be one of the best thing one could do. Be it on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, or the Pune – Banglore highway or all the trek destinations near Pune – its just too much fun here. For who really want to enjoy small road trips near Pune, here is a list of places you could head to –

  1. Tamini Ghat – A 2 hours drive from Pune, this place is a must during the monsoon. The entire trip from Chandini Chowk – Pigrangut – Mulsi – Tamini to the ghat is filled with amazing scenic beauty and mesmerizing weather.
  2. NDA road – Just adjacent to the city (Kothrud) one could drive to the least crowded road within the city towards Garden Court restaurant.
  3. Lonavala – Drive through the old Pune-Mumbai highway to the famous lions point in lonavala and beyond. Its beauty and beauty all around.
  4. Saswad – Exactly opposite to the Lonavala highways, this place is on the hilly side of Pune. Drive to the top and see the entire city lighting .
  5. Lavasa – hit the roads to Lavasa for an amazing drive experience.
  6. Panshet – A right on the Pune – Blore highway towards the khadakwasla .
  7. Malshej – I call it the land of waterfalls. A drive to a paradise.
  8. Purandar – from kondva to saswad-bopdev pune road
  9. Khopoli – exit the expressway to get on the roads of Khopoli
  10. Dehu gaon – From pimpri drive towards Pune gate resto. A right through the army area to Dehu road towards Dehu gaon. Enjoy villages and farms on your drive way.

For all the drives mentioned above – there is no destination as such….one who loves driving could go as far as one wants to before making the u turn. Every km is worth exploring 🙂 🙂

SAFE DRIVING !!

The Land of Kings

Rajasthan etymology:- Raja: King; Sthan: Place

Last minute cancellation of plans by my friends to Bali prompted me to take up a solo trip to Rajasthan. Rajasthan, as we all know, has been the home to numerous emperors. Even now, when one visits this place, one can fell that aura around, the grandeur, the architecture can still be seen.

Mine was a 5-day trip to Rajasthan during which I had covered only 2 places: Udaipur and Jaipur as I wanted to cover 2 places thoroughly during my 5-day visit.

I was welcomed by a cool breeze the minute I stepped out of the airport. The owner of the home stay that I’d booked was kind enough to pick me up at the airport. I did not do anything that day as it was already a bit late to explore Udaipur. I crashed early so that I could gather all the energy and see the wonderful city of Udaipur in full swing.

Homestay: Chandra Niwas

Day 1:

I had booked an auto for 2 days that would take me around Udaipur. Trust me when I say that the best way to explore Udaipur is in an auto.

  • Lake Pichola

My first stop was Lake Pichola. It is one of the most famous lakes in Udaipur.

DSC_0165

  • Chetak Smarak

I then headed to the building adjacent to it which is a memorial built in honour of Maharana Pratap Singh and his horse called the Chetak Smarak.

  • City Palace

It is built on a hill and one can see a culmination of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. It provides a panoramic view of the lake city that Udaipur is. The famous Lake Palace, the Jag Mandir and the Jagadish Temple are in the vicinity of the City Palace.

The beautiful mirror work and gem work that adorn the walls provide a standing proof of the skilled artisans that were present during that era.

  • Sunset Point

The sunset point is THE place where one should go if one wants to summarise what Udaipur is all about: lakes, boats, forts, hills. It provides a panoramic view of the entire city.

Day 2:

  • Srinathji Temple

Day 2 started at 10 a.m with my first stop at Srinathji Temple. It is dedicated to lord Krishna. It is situated in Nathdwara which is around 50 mins drive from Udaipur. It opens at 11 in the morning. There is a separate enclosure for men and women where they wait for the temple doors to open. Once the visiting hours began, there was a huge rush which at one point of time did remind me of the Mumbai local train.

  • Nagda Temple

The Nagda Temple is better known as the Saas-Bahu temple. It is basically a Vishnu Temple which is made in 2 structures: one by Saas (Mother-in Law) and the other by Bahu (Daughter-in-Law).

DSC_0206

  • Eklingji Temple

As the name suggests it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Being a Tuesday, there was no rush and my darshan ended in no time.

  • Shilpgram

It is basically a Govt. run establishment that promotes the local artistes from all over Rajasthan—be it handicrafts, folk singers, folk dancers. I was lucky enough to catch a performance as well.

  • Sajjan Garh Fort

It is also known as the Monsoon Palace which overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake. It was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh atop the Banswara Hill. From the base of the mountain, there are small buses that take you up to the palace. The journey to the top has some breathtaking views to offer.

Day 3: Travel from Udaipur to Jaipur

I did not do anything that day in Jaipur as by the time I had reached my hotel I was famished and by the time I could satisfy my hunger, I realised that the visiting hours for most of the sightseeing places was over.

Day 4:

I was warned by everyone not to take an auto around Jaipur as they charge a bomb if they get to know that you are a tourist. Hence, Ola to the rescue!

  • Hawa Mahal

Built in red and pink sandstone, it is basically just a high wall from which the women used to observed the street festivals. The main purpose of the wall was to keep the women veiled.

  • City Palace

It is the royal enclosure which houses the famous Diwan-I-Aam and the Diwan-E-Khas and other structures as well.

  • Jantar Mantar

It is located within the same vicinity of the City Palace. It has the world’s largest sundial and is quite aptly named as UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Jal Mahal

Situated at the centre of the lake, it has been a hub of many celeb weddings. But I found it a bit disappointing. Unlike the Jal Mahal at Udaipur, there are no boats that take you close to the Jal Mahal. You have to appreciate the structure from a really far-off distance with probably a pile of garbage and the stench coming from it next to you.

  • Choki Dhaani

I had been to Choki Dhani in the evening which is nothing more than a village resort.

Day 5:

  • Amer Fort

If you are a foodie then you must definitely try out these places in Jaipur

  1. Tapri (tea house): It is a roof top cafe which serves amazing chai.
  2. Copper Chimney: One of the oldest restaurants in Jaipur, it is famous for its Laal maans (mutton) preparation. It is just “finger-lickin-good”.

This Day Is My Day!

This day is my day.
I wud do anything in my capacity to do what I love to do. This day is the only day that I have.

This day I wud spend for myself, this day I wud work to be happy. This day is precious, this time is precious. This day I wud not let things happen to me; rather this day I wud make the happenings. This day I wud take charge of my life. This day I wud bring most value to my life and to the life of others who are around me. This day I become aware of my doings, this day I seek for what I am, this day I do things that my heart & soul wants me to do.

This day I give away the fear, fear of everything, cause the fear will hold me back from living my life. This day I give away the worries. This day I take one more step to create the world that I have always believed in. This day I put one more brick to the making of my world – My World !

This day I bring something better for me. This day I do something better for me. This day will not come again, this time will not show up again.

This day, I write my own story, this day I decide. This day, I stand for myself. This day I believe that I am better, this day I believe I can do much better. This day, I realize my dream.

This day I will not let go. This day I will not pass again. This day I will not walk that road which is not meant for me, this day I will explore the road that I always wanted to walk.

This day, I will clear the clouds, this day, I will move the mountains – stone by stone. This day I will fly, this day I will open my wings of freedom. This day I will dance, this day I will sing.

Live not surviveThis day I will live. This day I will do more than just survive .

This day is my only day, this day will not come again, this time will not show up again –

This day is my day !! This is my only day !!

I am in the midst of my FIRST FUNDRAISING SOLO ART & PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION in Pune ( https://www.facebook.com/events/1612030825535578/ ). Right from the very beginning of my life, i always had this strong urge of helping people. My heart always wanted to reach out to the needy and i always tried to do my bit in some or the other way. I was always a call away to my friends and still am, never felt why should i ever turn down any ones shout for help, no matter how small it was.

The best part is that i have received a lot in return and when i say a lot..its really a lot – in terms of love, faith, support and friendship . So the good work that we do always comes back and if someone who knows my life closely will always have reasons to support this statement.

Today i write this for 3 reasons :

Firstly, i want more and more people to come and help me in my endeavor to raise 3,00,000 for PROJECT NANHI KALI, an NGO that supports education of underprivileged girl child. Please click and donate. http://ket.to/ForACause  . Every single rupee makes a big difference.

Secondly, i want to tell people that helping some one is easy and beyond any images (1)contentment, all you need is a willing heart and a small effort. We all have big dreams, bigger goals and our own commitments in life and accordingly the priorities are set. A noble work done comes back in various ways to help us to be closer to our dreams & goals. And yes it works magically. We are here to make each others life easy – helping, supporting, laughing and dancing together is what i visualize a community to be like.

Thirdly, i am a very happy man today. With friends, family, known & unknown people coming forward to help me in my journey to make a difference in somebodies life. Every small help makes my heart open three folds in love and gratitude. I am thankful to all who has been supportive & i thank in advance to all who would be supporting. Every small contribution is such a massive help to ones who need it.

Rainbow Bubble – My First Solo Exhibition

Rainbow Bubble – an artist’s journey

So finally the day has arrived when I sit down and start writing to promote my own art work. With love for art since childhood, I had never envisioned that I would be coming up with a Solo Exhibition one day of my art work. It started one and a half year back when I had taken my first break from the corporate world. Painting was on my priority list and I did more of it with love and with an aim to get better every day. It was then when my work started shaping well and the appreciations came from everyone who noticed my work – esp family and friends. My friends & family have been my most loved audience and booster to my work. It was then when I started getting remarks on social sites to do an exhibition of my work. I had not taken the remarks too seriously at first neither did I ever ignored any of them.

With only training that I received in my school days, I learnt most of the work on my own – most from practice and some learning materials online. Youtube videos have been the best learning tool for me. Watching techniques and taking inspiration from artist on youtube, I learnt a lot of new and beautiful skill set . As I had no formal education in art, I was more on an exploratory mode. I started trying lot of medium to work with – Spray,Oil,Acrylic,Watercolors,Glow in dark paints, I play around with all.

love 2The journey has been fun and exciting. The more I did the paintings, the more I wanted to do. This love and passion for art work kept me going, even when I joined corporate after my 1st break. I kept the spirits on and painting/art became one common work, no matter what I was doing and no matter where I was employed. With time the difference in my work was pretty much visible to me. I started amusing and feeling good about the work. The hall of our 1bhk flat in Mumbai got all packed with lot of my work, its then I thought that the time has come to do it. As Pune had been my place, I was clear that if I have an exhibition it has to be at Pune first. So finally I booked Darpan Art Gallery, which usually is booked entire year round,I was lucky here as I got a booking within 3 months time. I had never dreamt of my own art exhibition, neither had I thought that I would ever make this passion and hobby as my profession, but I guess it’s the best and I am getting all geared up for my first solo exhibition.

I am thankful to my family and all my friends who have been such an inspiration and support for me. They are the strong pillars that have helped me carve this journey of mine !!

Mantra for a high energy lifestyle

In today’s world with so much pollution, rush, and chemically abused food intake, its very difficult to keep your energy levels high all the time. Fatigue takes over us more frequently than ever. This happens for various reasons – untimely sleep, junk food intake, too much of alcohol intake, worry, tension and less or no exercise. Forget about multitasking, most of us fail to keep those energy levels high for our daily tasks. Many in their daily rush of work and family engagement fail to understand the importance of keeping their energies intact. Lack of energies results in irritation with people and work around, it results in under performance, it results in non creativity, it results in sluggishness and many a times it could also lead to depression and demotivation .

People really fail to acknowledge a fact that if their energy levels are high, they could do wonders in all fields of their life. People who are making wonders – are people with very high energy levels and they work hard to keep this energy level intact – as much as they could.

All those morning exercise, yoga, meditation, eating good, sleeping well, even talking good and positive are tools that keeps those successful ( not rich ) people – healthy and wealthy. All that and more, does more than just physical and mental – it helps keep the energies building up to keep up with the daily routine and work. If we all inculcate few very simple habits in our daily routine, we could definitely see the difference. You could feel the difference in spirit with which you play your day.

  1. Eat healthy: This is most important. Our body needs to be taken care of. Eating healthy makes our inside as well as outside strong. Try to have as much natural food intake as possible. Anything that is unnatural will have a negative effect and lowers the energy. Avoid all packaged food and snacks – as far as possible.
  2. Exercise: Any form of exercise is helpful to keep those muscles happy. Stretching, yoga, some jumping around or playing some outdoor games is very beneficiary.
  3. Quit smoking. Quit alcohol: Smoking and alcohol kills one’s stamina and so affects the over all energy levels. Very occasional drinks and that too in small quantity, incase desirable is OK. Until you want to be a fitness freak .
  4. Meditation: One of my favorite and must do’s on the list. Meditation is one such formula that can have multiple benefits – mental and physical. It empowers you from within and the goodies is a long list. http://www.emmaseppala.com/10-science-based-reasons-start-meditating-today-infographic/#.WOvuuUWGPIU
  5. Dance: Yes, this is one thing that would not only make you move, but it also brings in cheer, improves balance and spatial awareness and much more. Dance even when you don’t know to dance. http://www.everydayhealth.com/fitness-pictures/health-benefits-of-dance.aspx
  6. Walk: Brisk walking at a park has its own perks. Walk barefooted and connect with the earth below. Feel the energies that you receive.happy-people-in-the-poppy-field-1280x800-wide-wallpapers-net
  7. Connect with nature: Nature is not only supportive to our life, it also helps us relax. One thing that can help get your mind back into gear is exposing it to restorative environments, which, research has found, generally means the great outdoors. One study found that people’s mental energy bounced back even when they just looked at pictures of nature. (Pictures of city scenes had no such effect.) Studies have also found that natural beauty can elicit feelings of awe, which is one of the surest ways to experience a mental boost.
  8. Get connected to people : Talk to people who appreciate your work and you – This is a booster. Spend time with people who make you feel good. Good words and appreciation helps keep your spirits high for life.happy-child-awesome
  9. Smile, Laugh, Giggle: Keep your childhood alive till the end of life. Smile, laugh and giggle as much as possible. Happy people tend to be more energetic and life will always have a lot of reason to smile and laugh.
  10. Listen to music: Music is magic. Music can sooth, music could energize, music could relax, music could make your feel better – so keep it on. Hear music that you feel gives power and motivation.
  11. Do things that you love: Nothing could beat this one. Anything that you love doing and are passionate about rejuvenates your soul.

Money can buy everything ?

iyANphMoney can buy everything…more often and more we all must have heard this quote from some one or the other. A sentence that probably has screwed many people’s lives or even made people live miserably. With this quote in mind, many are on their journey to make hell lot of money, sacrificing their present, sacrificing their time, sacrificing many tangible, non-tangible beautiful stuff in life, to make hell lot of money. There is nothing wrong in making a lot of money – but believing that money can buy everything has made many people go crooked over years and years now.

This is certainly a myth or misconception, if I may say, and does not hold any good. Neither it has ever been nor will it ever be. Money was introduced as a means for trade – pure trade. There is various understanding of money from historical data – but certainly it is not something that could buy everything. You certainly cannot trade love, nor happiness, peace or even a feeling – in true sense. If you say, buying sex is buying love, then the whole understanding of love is wrong. Similarly people talk about happiness in luxury, which again is a temporary trigger of emotions – yes just that. Luxury doesn’t bring happiness in one’s life. It does bring satisfaction due to fulfillment of a want, it does bring in excitement about new expensive stuffs, it does create a feeling of richness
and power, it might bring in more comfort – but does that really bottom down to happiness?? Is sleeping on a diamond embedded bed happiness ? Is riding/driving the most expensive vehicle happiness? Is having a filthy bank balance happiness ? Is money happiness? These answers needs to be sorted by you.

In contrast everything that gives happiness, love and peace is NOT at all dependant on money. Money is just a medium to buy things. We have made it too important in our life, way too important. People kill for money today. Is someone’s life worth any rupee or dollars? Indeed not!! But someone somewhere believes money can buy everything and this idea only brings misery and trouble. Nobody is ready for any monetary loss, or I would say 99% of the crowd will fall off their feet thinking of losing money. The attachment with money has become pretty intense. Money comes and goes- this should not hamper one’s sleep/relationship/happiness or even peace. But this is exactly what is happening. And if you further drill down the last 2 lines – the issue is more explosive because of the present lifestyle people are living- most people.

“Money can buy a big house, but not a home. Money can buy a high position, but not  respect. Money even can buy a person, but not love. In conclusion, money is an indispensable part in our life but it is not everything “-even Google showed this (This was a result of my search for a picture to add to my article – “Money can buy anything” 🙂 )

Most people who are rich and happy- are the ones who don’t bother much about money- rather they are more focused to more important things than money. Interestingly money follows them!!

Unfortunately we are living in a system today that shouts from all corners- making us realize that all those luxuries/things that are not important in our life is so much important to us- to buy- and everything costs $$$$ ONLY !!!!

Panshet Dam, Pune – a days trip

Around 45 to 50 kms from Pune, Panshet is a small nice place and perfect destination for a small one day trip. You are suppose to take Pune – Bangalore highway towards Singhad Fort. The roads are good and narrow. Just an hour and half drive one could plan early morning trip and return the same day. There are few resorts near the dam. A small resto for food is just at the edge of the hill surrounding the dam and gives amazing scenic view of the dam and surrounding hills. One could spend time with nature watching the clam water and the soothing mountains around. Far off from the city crowd, its a perfect place to relax in the silence of the nature and do some photography .

Give away the anger …

Giving away those anger ?

Anger is a strong emotional response or reaction to the happening around us or with us. As all other emotion we should be very well aware of this emotion. This is one emotion that makes lot of things berserk within a small time span or even otherwise. Worst part this emotion provokes a similar emotion in others. Though most emotions work the same way, but anger affects people and community in harmful ways. So we should understand the source of anger and do the best to get rid or normalize this emotion. We should know where and when anger is required. Being aware of this emotion and playing around with it in situations would definitely help you to focus more on better things in life.

1.  First thing first – A peaceful mind is the last one to react with anger to any situation. So to control the anger one needs to find that peace in their life – whether personal or professional. If the mind state is not at peace, we are more vulnerable to create this emotion. Being peaceful inside means least reaction to the outer happening of the world. Yes there are happenings that will bother, that will disturb, but getting angry is no solution to these happenings. Rather find what solution could you come up with for any situation that seems disturbing.

2. Getting angry channelizes either through words or actions – both in a negative way. Abusing or getting physical is associated with getting angry. One should learn not to react with words or action impulsively. Impulsive reaction with anger is always harmful for one self and others around. You might really be angry with something, but you should learn the art of acting on it rather reacting on it. Acting here means a deliberate action performed with sense and understanding of the situation that had happened and that made you angry. Remember to unlearn – getting angry really doesn’t mean one need to hurt someone.

3. Angry people lose out to lot of good things in life. Getting angry has its harmful impact on one self. Angry people tend to miss the goods in life, the anger occupies the mind and happiness goes away. It has negative impact physically (http://www.everydayhealth.com/news/ways-anger-ruining-your-health/ ) and mentally. And these negative impacts goes beyond the normal consequences.e3c9aedd9679114855be3215697696f0

4. Getting angry at the right situation. This is important. Being angry with rightful reason at times become necessity. There are situations which really needs your anger. If your being angry helps someone, then better be angry. If your anger saves some one, better do it. A strong reason and logic would demand you to be angry – and you better be. Vent out this anger in the rightful way. Remember to keep the check of how much anger is required to control a situation or matter.

5. Do not react with anger to angry people – remember people who are disturbed within are most likely to be angry most of the time. So when some one angry and shouting at you, look with love and pity at their situation – a situation that they are helpless inside and all they can do is shout and fight. These are people who need help and reacting with anger would not really help the situation. Next time if somebody calls u and abuses you  – do not forget – they need help !!

6. Always indulge with happiness –  the more you indulge with happiness, the more anger walks away from your life. A life of bliss never entertains anger. A life that is filled with immense love, compassion and positivity – shall always be void of anger.

7. Don’t get angry – not for other but for your own good. People might have realized less, anytime you get angry, you spoil your own good energies. Theres an aura that happy people carry, the moment you get angry your aura vanishes. The beautiful energies that you had been carrying goes away. The negative energies get picked up which starts hampering your personal and professional life.
